The day of

I thought it was alright, no big deal, everything seemed so normal in this morning, just like every fucking banal day we had the past year. 

9am, I rush out to the club, fifteen minutes drive from our home. I walk in to the Club, seeing Raven was already there cleaning up the front table. Lovely blonde hair is the only shinning spot in this shadowy   room. 

“Morning, Erik.”

“Morning, Raven.” 

Raven Xavier, Charles sister, adopted obviously. When I was still dating with Charles, Raven and I had many underlying fights. I thought she was over obsessed with his own brother that the love was beyond  normal sibling emotions. She thought I was a penniless jackass who   was destined to broke Charles “pure heart” ( even though we both  knew Charles was way beyond Pure). Ironically, it turns out that during my five years marriage with Charles, Raven literally becomes my sis ter or I should probably use the word buddy. Yeah, I mean now she shares more things with me instead of her own brother. 

“ Bad day? Huh? “

“ Not really. Slept late last night.”

She put two glasses in front of me. 

“ Whiskys in the morning? Your brother will kill me for letting you   do this.”

“ Oh, we both know he won't because you would never say a word about this right? Wanna talk about it? Another pathetic marriage problem with Charles?”

“ Uhhhh... No, not really. Got a bad dream last night, can’t tell, just creepy. I can only recall the mental cold feeling in my stomach. Felt    like drowning my self in a mental ocean.” 

“ Mental ocean? Seriously? Aren't you the Magneto?”

“ Christ. It's just, I am anxious. I woke up this morning and realized it is our five year anniversary.”

“ Oh God, sounds bad. you are scared by your own anniversary with your husband.”

“ Yeah, I know. Sounds horrible.” I buried my face in my hands, try  to clear my mind and hold on to my pathetic monotonous day.

“ Got any present?” asked Raven, drinking another cup of whiskey.

“ Noooo, I was not even start to think. Maybe book a table in The Bar restaurant?”

“ Bad idea. Totally out of time and very conspicuously casual.”

“ I have no idea, too tired.”

“ Oh, come on! just go home, put your dicks in him and fuck the shit out of him.” 

Turning her bright hair, Raven smiles carelessly like a innocent child.

“Jesus! Raven!” I start to think about telling her brother about her misbehavior. But thinking about Charles, my heart ache, my head drown and my stomach twist. 

Just this moment, the bell ring. 

“Hell Fire. Who’s this? Oh, ok. Erik, it’s for you.”

“ Yes? Oh, Logan, What’s wrong? What? O, OK, I will be back soon.”

Raven stares at me. I am pretty sure my face turns green. God my gut  just twists again.

“ My house door is open, and Pietro is outside the door.” Charles  would never let Pietro go out side the house without his company.

I feel immediately intense that I think I really need a drink. Grab my  things, I rush out the door.

Shit.
